Introduction

A kunai 苦無 is a Japanese tool which in the hands of a martial arts expert, could be used as a multi-functional weapon.

Kunai can be found free at Samurai Edo.

They are concealed within jars and boxes around the sim. Slashing them will reveal either The kunai , Healing Potion or Stamina Potion.

Collecting

To collect them as well as use them u must wear the CS:I Cirlcle Hud V1.1.4.  Once u have found a kunai, to collect it u simply click it and it will automatically be picked up into your huds inventory. you can collect a maximum of 7 kunai. A useful tip is to copy your Hud once u have a full inventory, this wil ensure you have unlimited kunai.

Setting up

Before throwing the kunai you must first activate the gesture ‘Inventory – Use Item’ which is located in your CS:I weapons folder. Once activated your shortcut key to throwing the kunai will be F3. Unfortunately this is not changable as the gesture is no modify. Using F3 will also able you to throw the kunai while still in mouse look.

Throwing the Kunai

To throw the kunai you must be wearing the CS:I Cirlcle Hud V1.1.4 hud, have a kunai in your hud inventory, have activated the gesture, ‘Inventory – Use Item’. and finally have drawn your weapon. While in mouse look you use he pointer to aim and once u have located your target you simple press F3 to throw. Speed and force of the kunai are unchangable so increasing the throwing distance of the kunai wil mean you will have to aim above your target, the higher you aim, the further it will go. Think of the Kunai as a projectile (A projectile is any object propelled through space by the exertion of a force which ceases after launch) The throwing force is always the same, as it travels it gradually loses its energy and begins to dip. Kunai can not bend round cornors and its motion is always a forward one.  You can not throw the kunai while jumping or while in the air.  You can throw the kunai while running but your running motion will stop once you begin the throw. Once you throw the kunai you wil not be able to move forward  for appoximately 5 seconds,  your only movement is from side to side or back.

Becoming a master kunai thrower takes dedication , commitment and alot of skill!

Hit or Miss

You can track your kunai by its particle trace through the air, if it was a successful hit u will see the blood splat from your victim as well as hearing the sound of a slash. Useful tip is to turn up the sound level on your individual volume control, this will help you with longer distance targets. Another indicator is observing yout targets reaction. Using trial and error wil help you find out the range of your target and so determine how high you need to aim, remember to look out for the key indicators of a successful hit.

Evading the Kunai

Throwing the kunai is a slow process compared to the slash or kick and because of this it is very easy to evade. A block wil prevent the kunai hitting and the best maneuver

to avoid the flight of a kunai is a sidewards movement as a kunai path is always a forward one. The most effective way to use the Kunai is using stealth, not letting your target see you.

Do not use it during spars unless your opponent agrees.

Do not use it any tournaments unless the tournament rules state otherwise

Always follow the sims rules.

Useful Information

Kunai will cause 20 % damage, that means, 6  successful consecutive hits wil kill your opponent.
